Installation
------------

To install the demonstration edition of On The Mark, simply uncompress
the "OTM12DEMO.ZIP" Zip file to an empty directory and run the "SETUP.EXE"
file by double-clicking on its icon.

You can uninstall the demo by opening the Control Panel, double-clicking
on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon, selecting "On The Mark" from the list
of installed programs, and clicking the "Add/Remove" button.


License Key
-----------

The license key for the demonstration edition of On The Mark is
"9999-9999-9999".  Note that this key is NOT valid for the commercial
editions of On The Mark, and that you cannot use this key to obtain
free technical support for the demonstration edition of On The Mark.


Purpose of the Demo Version
---------------------------

This demonstration edition of On The Mark is designed to allow you to
evaluate the software and decide if it suits your needs.  The demo
version will not expire, however, it is subject to several limitations
(described below) and is NOT designed to be used in any production
or commercial application.

Users of the demonstration edition are not entitled to free technical
support for this edition of On The Mark.  However, please feel free to
contact Metralis with comments or questions regarding the suitability
of the commercial editions of On The Mark in your particular application.

Limitations of the Demo Version
-------------------------------
The demo version of On The Mark is a limited, but fully-functional
edition of the commercial On The Mark package.  The demo version is
subject to the following limitations:

(1)	The demo supports reading data from only one probe.  However,
	you can read data from any Solartron digital probe, including a
	standard digital probe, a pneumatic probes, a feathertouch probe,
	or a linear encoder.

	(The commercial edition allows you to read from up to 248
	probes simultaneously.)

(2)	The demo only allows you to read from a probe connected to
	the first two channels (number 0 and 1, or "Channel1" and
	"Channel2") on the first Orbit network card installed in the
	system.

	(The commercial edition will allow you to utilize up to 8
	Orbit network channels -- up to 4 network cards -- in any
	one system.)

(3)	The demo only allows you to save and/or load one probe
	configuration.  If you want to save more than one configuration,
	you must first delete the old one.

	(The commercial edition allows you to maintain more than 90
	separate configuration sets.)

(4)	The demo does not provide any automation functionality.

	(The commercial edition provides the ability to interface with
	several different digital I/O devices in order to automate
	the gauge or other device that OTM is controlling.  This includes
	the ability to write automation scripts, perform digital I/O
	via the serial port or a specialized digital I/O card, and to
	control functions of OTM through ActiveX components.)

(5)	The demo version does not include the OTM Locksmith tool
	for system administrators.

	(The commercial edition includes this utility which allows
	the administrator to reset passwords, erase configuration
	information, etc.)

(6)	The demo version does not include the OTM Tools data
	manipulation utlity.

	(The commercial edition includes the OTM Tools utility,
	which allows you to select and graph large sets of data,
	and to export the data collected by OTM to programs such
	as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft FoxPro,
	ASCII, and Comma-delimited format, as well as others.)

NOTE:  The demonstration edition of On The Mark is subject to the same
license agreement as the commercial edition.  Please make sure to view the
documentation for On The Mark (available for free from the web site)
prior to using the software.

EDITION OF ON THE MARK FOR USE IN ANY MISSION-CRITICAL OR PRODUCTION
OR COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS.  USE OF THE DEMONSTRATION EDITION IN THIS
MANNER IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
